In 2004, Sagi Ben-Dov of Tel Aviv, Israel, and Jamie Baciuska of Afton, New York were talking about
their new baby boys, born just a month apart. Both men are in the private aviation business and had
been doing business together for several years. During a conversation, Jamie mentioned how little
sleep he and his wife were getting with their new son. Even when he was sleeping they would frequently
check on him to ensure all was ok. Sagi noted that he did not have to constantly check on the Baby
during the night because he and his wife used a Babysense. In fact Sagi mentioned he was trying to
help his wife one evening by picking up his son from his crib and forgot to turn the Babysense alarm
off. As he walked out of the room the alarm sounded waking his wife up anyway. Jamie then asked what
a Babysense was... “Thank goodness for Babysense,” said Sagi. “At least we can sleep with peace of mind
that if anything happens it will wake us up.” Sagi went on to describe what a Babysense monitor was
and also how to get one in the US.
It wasn't long before Jamie's son was sleeping on a Babysense unit allowing he and his wife to get
some long awaited restful nights. Jamie then found himself purchasing units for friends and family
members with new babies.
Wondering why such a wonderful product was not in the States, Jamie contacted Sagi and before long,
they, along with Jamie's father, Lynn, decided to acquire the rights from the manufacturer, HiSense,
to distribute the monitor throughout the United States and its territories. This led to the formation
of the Babysense distribution company known today as BabySafe USA, LLC.
"Our goal is to allow as many parents as possible the opportunity to experience the tremendous peace
of mind the Babysense monitor provided us as new parents, " said Jamie. "And if in the process we
could help save just one child's life, it would all be worth it".
